Has someone ever said to you, ‘that’s not like you’ or, ‘you don’t seem yourself? They usually say this when we do something that is out of character. How aware are you of your character traits, behaviours and values for example? Have you ever asked yourself, ‘Who am I’? If so, this exercise is for you.
The exercise creates the basis for identifying the ‘real you’ and sets the scene for further exploration of your own identity and personality.
By answering the questions set out honestly, you will uncover aspects of your makeup and raise your levels of self-awareness. By doing this you will then be able to dig deeper into more specific questions about values, strengths skills, and characteristics. Having clarity about who you are and what you stand for helps you to make decisions so the outcome is right for you.
At the end of the exercise, you will have a deeper understanding of
- What does being authentic mean?
- What does being authentic look like to you?
- Why being authentic is important to you?
- Identification of your authentic self.
