About Marcus

I’m a Brighton-based executive coach specialising in creative leadership.

I am lucky enough to have started my career with a decade in the creative industries. I got to write for the Guardian, broadcast on the BBC and perform music at the Pompidou Centre and Royal Albert Hall.

I went into higher education to help others have similarly rewarding experiences.

I went into coaching for the same reason.

I have a PhD in collaborative creativity and a PG Cert in executive coaching. I also have over twenty years of leadership experience as a magazine editor, music manager and associate dean.

I’ve consulted for Linux Foundation and the British Council; coached senior leaders at United Talent Agency and Arts Council England; and delivered training around the world from Accra to Amman.

My books include Different Every Time: The Authorised Biography of Robert Wyatt (Serpent’s Tail 2014), a Radio 4 book of the week, and Distributed Creativity: How Blockchain Will Transform the Creative Economy (Palgrave 2018).

I’m a member of the Association for Coaching.
